How principles impact my work, selection of tools and code that I write. This talk is a work-in-progress for me as well, but I believe it is way too easy for us to use new frameworks and tools only for the sake of using them. This talk won't answer all your questions but it may help you look at things in a different way.
Krzysztof KulaLet's bite a little of clojure script in our web development. Introduction into functional programming by doing simple web application. Clojure is not that scary!
Katarzyna JastrzebskaTeamwork follows its own rules. It requires much more effort from the developer than individual work. It is crucial to understand others and make yourself understandable as miscommunication leads to frustration, decreased motivation, poor quality, delays and can even cost big amount of money. This presentation tries to explain the significance of efficient communication in IT projects using simple real life examples. It shares observations and experience gained while working on a project with large number of specialists, not only developers. Finally, it offers some solutions that can be helpful in dealing with communication chaos.
Bartosz GrzegorczukBuilding applications' user interfaces is still a fancy thing to do, especially with such great tool as Angular is, but what about the devolopment, when you get stacked? This talk is about Angular and its adventures met in a real life, with hands-on product development for real business and users. I have a few tips, few tricks, and few lessons learned from projects which I was involved in.
Grzegorz KoronowskiThis talk is an introduction to streams. You will learn how stream-based programming can be used to implement web frontend of the classic game: Snake. Building dynamic applications using imperative approach tends to create lots of unmaintainable code. Stream-based programming tries to solve this problem by introducing fully declarative way of defining application logic. While using streams, you will focus on WHAT needs to be done, not HOW and WHEN. I will go through every piece of code that was used to build the game. That is about 100 lines of ES 2015 code contained within two React components.
Michał PłachtaMost of the web developers use grunt or gulp as a tool to automate their developement workflow or build process. Those tools add another layer of complexity and huge number of dependencies into our projects. But there is an alternative and simpler approach that is gaining on popularity recently: CLI commands + npm run scripts.
Łukasz FiszerCan unfamiliar pattern from world of statically typed functional languages improve JavaScript world? For sure YES! The elastic nature of JavaScript can handle great ideas from many alien worlds. With a little help of modern tools like monet.js and TypeScript we can achieve awesomely descriptive aesthetics of our code and drop some imperative bloat.
Jakub StrojewskiOverview of an example Node.js application that demonstrates how to deal with network programming in a reliable manner. Touches on subjects of idempotence, concurrency control, reactive programming and application state, with elements of CQRS and Event Sourcing.
Robert KaweckiCan we create a desktop application in JavaScript? Can we make it look like a native one? How can Electron or NW.js help us in that matter? The presentation will try to answer those (and many other) questions during an in-depth analysis of Electron framework.
Rafał SzymańskiTalk will cover Style Guide Driven Development from FrontEnd Developer point of view. It will explain how to use it to create reusable modules and make from it great websites and applications. It will contain examples from AngularJS together with SCSS as styling tool.
Łukasz KorowickiCSS Grid Layout is the latest W3C spec for, well.. grid layouts. Finally, it will work on Web Platform level. No more fancy CSS grid frameworks, no more clear fixes, floats, tables and other mess - the CSS as it should be. You will see how to create almost any page layout with few lines of clear CSS, without div-soup, and without single byte of library or tool to download. You will learn how to code with ease, and get experience with tomorrow's tech.
Tomek WytrębowiczWe will talk about frontend/js patterns and methodologies for building readable, clean and scalable code. We will guide you through architectural approaches that simplify our life in projects we work in at Roche Global IT Solutions.
Adrian Makowski Adam ChwiłkowskiNew features in JS have been around for a while and we've all seen examples of the new syntax. Have you every wondered though what they are actually good for? In this talk I'll talk about practical uses for these new features and I'll showcase real-life examples of ES2015+ code. You'll learn about new patterns and walk away ready to write better code!
Staś MałolepszyThe talk is my story of getting hands on React, jumping on the Hype Train rushing with a great speed. The journey includes new React project onboarding, understanding what this all hype is about and finally finding this technology as a great step in building maintainable applications. I'm sharing my experiences and tips about what React is, how to use it properly and finally test it.
Artur SzottGet hands-on knowledge of tools and patterns that make your Node.js app ready for production. Logging, monitoring, hunting performance issues and daily maintenance. No magic, no showing off fancy charts - just practical tips and tricks. Also, it's simpler than you think!
Zbyszek TenerowiczMaking use of brand new change detection system, immutability, reactive programming, shadow DOM and more. Talking about things that can help you avoid troubles.
Wojciech KwiatekI'm going to show you the force, the reactive force of JavaScript! Why reactive programming matters and which tools can help you to become the master. Switching your thinking to reactive is not easy but rewarding!
Michał ZałęckiBased on my Tech Lead experience from the Google / Disney / ILM / 72andSunny "Star Wars: Lightsaber Escape" - a second-screen 3D WebGL experience where your phone becomes a lightsaber, released in December 2015 for the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I'm going to share insights for how we used Polymer 1.0 as the underlying framework for the entire project. The talk will start with an introduction to Polymer but will soon expand into more advanced topics and case studies from our recent commercial implementation. I will talk about project architecture, design patterns, optimisation, performance and many more. The talk is open for questions and is thought-provoking.
